Роздумування над Псалмами: впевненість, благоговійний трепет і містичне проникнення Meditating on the Psalms: Confidence, Reverential Awe and Mystical Insight

Чільне місце в списку предків Господа Ісуса займає ім'я царя і пророка Давида. Саме походження Господа Ісуса від царя Давида робить Його «Месією», Помазанцем, Якому було пророковано, що він успадкує трон Давида і вічно царюватиме. Цар Давид важливий для нас через ці пророцтва, а також через його внесок у Святу Біблію. Книга Святого Письма, яку він написав, Псалтир або Книга Псалмів – це збірка пісень, які мають для нас особливе значення, оскільки вони виділяються серед інших Святих Писань особливим значенням. Вони розкривають не лише Божу волю (як це роблять інші книги Святого Письма), але й показують нам, як Бог хоче, щоб ми спілкувалися з Ним. Як нам молитися Богу? Як цар Давид молився Богу. В основному є три аспекти цієї молитви, про які ми повинні пам’ятати: псалми сповнені довіри до Бога; псалми дитячі; і псалми наповнені містичним значенням, що робить їх застосовними до будь-яких обставин життя.

Prominent in the list of the Lord Jesus' ancestors is the name of the King and Prophet David. It is the Lord Jesus' descent from King David that makes Him "the Messiah," the Anointed One, Who was prophesied to inherit the throne of David and reign as king forever. King David is important for us, because of these prophecies and also because of his contribution to the Holy Bible. The book of the Holy Bible that he wrote, the Psalter or Book of Psalms is a collection of songs that have special significance to us because they stand out among the other Scriptures with special meaning. They reveal not only God's will (as the other Scriptures do), but they also show us how God wishes us to communicate with Him. How should we pray to God? In the ways that King David prayed to God. Basically, there are three aspects of this prayer that we should keep in mind: the psalms are full of trust in God; the psalms are childlike; and, the psalms are filled with mystical meaning that makes them applicable to every circumstance of life.

Перш за все, псалми сповнені довірою до Бога. Знову і знову, незважаючи на найскладніші обставини, ми бачимо, як цар Давид висловлює найзворушливішу довіру до Провидіння Божого. Він вірить, що Бог постійно веде його і спрямовує все навколо на його благо. Ця впевненість часто виражається найдивовижнішими та яскравішими способами. Псалом 45, наприклад, говорить нам, що «Бог для нас притулок і сила», і далі сказано, що через нашу впевненість у цьому притулку і силі, «ми не будемо боятися, навіть якщо земля затрясається так сильно що гори впадають у море». First of all, the psalms are filled with trust in God. Again and again, regardless of the most trying circumstances, we find the King David expressing the most touching confidence in the Providence of God. He trusts that God is constantly leading him and directing everything around him for his benefit. This confidence is often expressed in the most amazing and stark ways. Psalm 45, for example tells us that "God is for us a refuge and strength," and it goes on to say that, because of our confidence in that refuge and strength, "we shall not fear even if the earth shook quake so violently that the mountains collapse into the sea." It is pretty clear that David's confidence in God as expressed here is an absolute confidence.

Наш другий пункт пов’язаний із цією великою довірою. Псалми теж дитячі. У якому розумінні Господь Ісус хвалить дитинство? Хіба Він не знає, що діти здатні на неймовірний егоїзм? Звичайно, Він робить. Те, що Господь Ісус хвалить у дітях, — це їхнє любляче довір’я до своїх батьків і, більше того, їхнє благоговіння перед присутністю Бога та всіма чудесами, які Він створив. Псалми сповнені такого роду благоговіння.

Our second point goes along with this great trust. The Psalms are also childlike. In what sense does the Lord Jesus praise childhood? Doesn't He know that children are capable of incredible selfishness? Of course, He does. What the Lord Jesus praises in children is their loving confidence in their parents, and more, their awe in the presence of God and all the wonders that He has created. The Psalms are filled with this kind of reverential awe.

По-третє, псалми наповнені містичним змістом. Це означає, що хоча кожен має своє буквальне значення, свою ситуацію в обставинах життя, в якому він був складений, він також має потрійне духовне значення. Це духовне значення відповідає душі в людині. Подібно до того, як людина складається з душі та тіла, Святе Письмо також має буквальне та духовне значення. Духовний зміст Святого Письма, особливо Псалмів, має бути досягнутий через медитацію, дитячі роздуми над Словом Божим.

The third point is that the Psalms are filled with mystical meaning. This means that, although each has its literal meaning, its situation in the circumstances of the life in which it was composed, it also has the threefold spiritual meaning. This spiritual meaning corresponds to the soul in the human being. Just as a human being is composed of soul and body, so too are the Holy Scriptures composed of a literal and a spiritual meaning. The spiritual meaning of the Scriptures, especially the Psalms, has to be arrived at through meditation, childlike pondering on the Word of God.

Бог кличе нас до близькості з Ним, щоб ми стали святими, які вічно живуть у Його присутності, сповнені Його життям і світлом. Щоб досягти такої близькості, ми повинні стати експертами в молитві, наслідуючи Господнього предка царя Давида в його дитячій впевненості, благоговійному трепеті та містичному проникненні. Поставте перед собою скромну мету молитися один псалом на день. З цього псалма оберіть один вірш або частину вірша для роздумування. З часом ви пригадаєте псалми та частини псалмів напам’ять і зможете розмірковувати над вибраним віршем псалма ТА його зв’язком з іншими віршами, які вам знайомі. Боже Слово поступово стане основою для вашого розуміння світу. Довіра до Бога, благоговійний трепет перед Його присутністю та містичне розуміння почнуть пронизувати все ваше життя.

God is calling us to intimacy with Him, to become saints, who live forever in His presence, filled with His life and light. In order to arrive at that intimacy, we must become experts in prayer, following the Lord's ancestor King David in his childlike confidence, reverential awe and mystical insight. Set for yourselves the modest goal of praying one psalm a day. From that psalm, choose one verse or part of a verse to meditate on, that is, to ponder. In time, you will recall psalms and parts of psalms by heart, and you will be able to meditate on your chosen psalm verse AND its connections with other verses that are familiar to you. God's Word will slowly become the basis for your understanding of the meaning of the world. Confidence in God, reverential awe in His presence and mystical insight will begin to permeate your whole life.
